5 Things I do to Stay Focused

If there is one thing that everybody struggles with, it is the ability to stay focused. If you ask anyone in my family, they would tell you that I get distracted very easily. Now that I am in college, being able to focus and get work done is very important to me. So if you are like me, and tend to procrastinate, here are a few things you can do to change that:

1) Write down or tell someone about everything you need to accomplish, so that it is out of your system.

2) Separate what you have to do into small chunks. This will allow you to get through everything without getting overwhelmed. Sometimes you will find yourself worrying about time and that you are not getting things done fast enough. Don't worry though, you will get through it all.

3) Reward yourself. Some ways that I like to reward myself after completing a chunk of homework is to: watch a 10 minute YouTube video, check my social media accounts, go for a walk, or do a fitness video.

4) Keep a tall glass of water beside you. Most of the time when you feel hungry, it is because you are dehydrated.

5) Have nutritional snacks, meals and drinks. In the photos above, you can see that I am having a bowl of fruit and cup of green tea. This kind of snack will keep you energized to get your work done.

I would love to hear what you do to stay focused, so let me know in the comment section below.

  1. Great ideas and tips! (And I love that tray!!)

When I'm working on art projects, I love either listening to music or putting one of my favourite movies on just to listen to.
