Health & Fitness: Stretching after Workouts

I made it one of my goals last year to stretch every day after my workout. I did it for half the year but then life got busy, I got lazy, and I had fallen out of that habit. This year I have decided I am going to try making it my goal again and actually follow through with it.

I find stretching every day makes a huge difference because I don't feel as tense and sore after my workouts. I also find that stretching has given me more energy to work out and for my daily activities.

Some days I will spend 10 minutes stretching on my own with some music playing. Other days, I will follow a Yoga with Adriene video on YouTube when I have more time. So far, I have been doing a yoga video 2-3 times a week!

I thought I would share this goal with you guys to inspire you to stretch every day and maybe try doing a yoga video.

Trend Alert: Velvet

Happy New Year readers! For my first blog post of the year, I thought I would share two outfits featuring velvet because it is so in style right now. For my first outfit, I am wearing my crushed velvet maroon tank with a sexy lace bralette underneath, paired with my black velvet pants. My second outfit includes a super comfy cotton black velour hoodie with ripped jeans. Both outfits highlight items that are easy to add layers too if you have to live through a Canadian winter like I do.

The clothing items in both outfits can be found at Forever 21 or Winners. I hope this blog post inspires you to go shopping for some some super soft velvet fashion finds!

How to be Productive

Hey guys, I thought I would do a lifestyle post today and share tips on how to be productive. It's hard to be productive sometimes when all you want to do is relax and not have to worry about your responsibilities.

However, if you use these tips, you may notice yourself being more productive. These tips can apply to anybody; whether you are in school, working or just feeling unmotivated.

My number one tip is to make goals! Using a day planner or agenda, create a list of things you want to accomplish every day. It is so satisfying to check things off once you've completed them! Also, create monthly goals. Make a list of things you would like to accomplish every month. For example, I make a list of health, career and daily goals. It motivates you to work towards something every day. Setting daily and monthly goals gives you a timeline to accomplish tasks and motivates you to get them done.

My second tip is to reward yourself. Once you've completed one of your goals/tasks for the day, reward yourself with a trip to Starbucks for a pumpkin spice latte or do something else that will make you happy.

My third tip is to start your day early and go to bed at a decent time. I find waking up early gives you lots of time to complete your daily tasks. Also, getting enough sleep, at least 7 hours, will give you the energy to get through the day, but obviously coffee helps too.

My last tip is to eat healthy and exercise. I find eating the right foods gives you lots of energy to get through the day. I also think that being active will keep you feeling energized and motivated throughout the day. Even if your physical activity for the day is short walk, you will find that it still keeps you in a positive mindset.

I hope these tips help you stay motivated and productive!
